OverviewThe MRI Technologist performs procedures in accordance with departmental protocols and standards, operating MRI scanners and associated equipment with a high level of proficiency.Key Responsibilities

• Verify patient orders and examine requests, referring discrepancies to the Radiologist.
• Properly identify patients and assist them during procedures, documenting medical history and correlating test results.
• Administer IV contrast and evaluate image quality, consulting with Radiologists as needed.
• Perform basic patient care functions and assist in code blue procedures during medical emergencies.
• Operate radiology computer systems, entering orders and charging procedures.RequirementsGraduate of an accredited two-year AMA-approved program in Radiologic or Nuclear Medicine Technology required. ARRT certification in Radiologic Technology or NMTCB for Nuclear Medicine with advanced registry from the ARMRIT or ARRT in MRI required within one year of hire.Working ConditionsRequires moderate to heavy physical efforts in lifting and moving patients, equipment, and supplies. Occasional standing, walking, and sitting during normal operation.
