Job Description:

Assists in various invasive angio and interventional procedures in the Interventional Radiology Suite.
Organizes surgical scrub and circulation duties for total patient care.
Monitors patients in the Interventional Radiology area.
Performs specialized radiography and fluoroscopic coverage of procedures.
Explains procedures to patients and preps them for the procedure.
Obtains medications and radiopharmaceuticals as directed.
Circulates during procedures and maintains patient comfort.
Provides supplies for diagnostic and therapeutic procedures.
Removes catheters and applies direct pressure as necessary.
Reports necessary information to the holding area or nursing unit.
Records and processes reports promptly and accurately.
Enters patient data and inventory into the WITT program.
Communicates equipment malfunctions to leadership.
Responsibilities:

  Requirements:
  Requires standing and walking while wearing lead aprons.
  Exposure to radiation, secretions, and blood.
  Normal vision, manual dexterity, and good eye and hand coordination necessary.
  Constant concentration required during procedures.
  High School Diploma or GED required.
  Completion of an ANA accredited Radiologic Technologist Program or Radiology Interventional Program required.
  BLS HCP certification from AHA required.
  RTR required.
  1 year in diagnostic and 1 year in Interventional Radiology preferred.
